      EdCube Connect Mind Maps

Using Mind Mapping to Build e-Portfolios

EdCube Connect with Inbuilt Mind Mapping Tools

EdCube Connect is an innovative new e-Portfolio software that allows students and teachers to build their e-Portfolios with mind mapping software.

The EdCube Mind Mapping Tool provides effective learning pathways for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.

Visual learners can conceptualise concepts and linkages between the ideas that they wish to bring into their e-Portfolios.

Auditory learners use the mind mapping tools to capture their ideas quickly (audio note taking) and synthesise the data on the map to create context and linkages

Review the image below of the mind mapping tools in the EdCube Connect learning discovery software. Learn more about EdCube Connect.

      Creating e-Portfolio Topics and Sub-Topics

Getting Started with EdCube Mind Maps

      1. You start your e-Portfolio mind map with the name of your e-Portfolio published in the centre of the map. All the information you add from this point on should relate to the central theme of your e-Folio.
      2. Select Add Topic and a new topic is published on your mind map and linked to your central theme. A Topic is an area that you want to explore as your build your e-Portfolio. You may elect to create all of your topics first before adding sub-topics. Simply click Add Topic to add additional topics to your e-Portfolio.
      3. After you have quickly published your topics on the mind map, you can drag and drop your topics to restructure the order of your e-Portfolio
      4. The topics create the top level of your e-Portfolio navigation. Each topic has the inbuilt functionality to create sub-topics or pages under the topic. Content is added to sub-topic pages.
      5. Once you have finished adding topics and sub-topic pages click Edit and start adding content to your e-Portfolio pages.
